ZDNet’s, Mary Jo Foley, has revealed that her sources are saying that Microsoft is planning not only an update or two coming very soon, but a large update codenamed ‘Mango’ is in the work for this coming Fall.
The update is said to be big enough that it could be a Windows Phone 7.5 update and will be the largest update between Windows Phone 7 and what could be Windows Phone 8 (Codenamed ‘Apollo’) coming in 2012.
According to her sources:
Mango, according to tipsters, will add Silverlight run-time and HTML 5 support to Windows Phone 7, Far Eastern language support and other features and functionality…
Many tech news sites and blogs have an update coming in early January which is set to deliever a copy and paste feature, however, rumors have been swirling even more that a February update may also come and bring with it more advanced features. As of now, Microsft is saying nothing except that copy and paste is coming in early 2011, but I’m guessing that we’ll find out more as CES in 2011 inches even closer.
